In order to avoid any complicated problems debts must be managed properly. The key is you should not spend more than you earned. You should only adapt to the lifestyle that you can afford. Expensive lifestyles are only meant for those people who can afford to pay for it. Determine how much is too much. Paying your debts must be done on time to avoid penalty charges. You are in financial trouble if you can't pay in cash the items that you used to pay in cash. The amount that you pay for your bills must not come from your savings. If you pay your debts promptly then there is no reason why debt collectors will keep on calling you. The money that is supposed to be for other things must not be used to pay for the bills. It is possible to negotiate to your lenders in order to lessen the burden but you have to see to it that you won't break your promise.
Debt collectors can be harsh sometimes because they want to collect payments from you. If you feel that you are being harassed by debt collectors then make a complaint. Harassment can be in the form of going to court if you will not pay or calling you early in the morning or late at night. Debt collectors must not declare any false or misleading statements. Payments to your debts can be done in monthly installments and you have to negotiate this with your lenders. You have to talk to your lenders before they will file a complaint in court. Court proceedings may cost you too much and this is an additional burden to you aside from paying your debts.
