Self-Publish Write Now!

If you are an aspiring writer then chances are several literary agents and publishers have already rejected you numerous times. If you are like most aspiring writers then you are probably getting tired of seeing that same old "not interested" letter in the mail. So how can a writer be published when all else fails?
Many writers are turning to self-publishing as a way of getting their work out there. If you choose this option then you should know that It is solely up to the writer to investigate all possibilities prior to making a decision. Remember that there are many frauds out there so you will want to make certain that you are going with a reputable company.
One of the most important things to know when self-publishing is that you alone are responsible for editing. No one wants to read a novel that is riddled with grammar and spelling errors. It is unprofessional and gives the reader the idea that the author does not really care about his/her own work. You can have others read your manuscript to get their point of view, use online writing groups, or pay an editor for their expertise. Again, be careful to watch for frauds when it comes to online critiques and editing services. Some of them may not be reputable.
Finally, you are also going to be responsible for promoting your own work. You will not sell what people do not know you have. It is like having a store tucked deep into the forest with no road leading up to it. Chances are no one will ever know about that little woodland store and therefore no one will stop by to make a purchase. So, learn how to market your work by reading articles on the subject. Some great ways to promote your works is through Twitter and Facebook. If you do not already have an account with them, then make one. Also, work on getting a website for yourself. You do not have to spend a fortune on web design. You can use a free one such as webs.com.
There are many ways to self-publish your work. Check out all the avenues available for the self-published author, edit your work or have fresh eyes look it over for you, then have it edited again. Now publish your work with a reputable company. Remember that you are responsible for doing your homework prior to making a final decision as to which company you choose. Finally, market it any way you can, but always stay within the law and internet site guidelines.
Are you sick of being rejected by one agent after another? Self-publishing is one option available for aspiring writers who are having trouble getting their work out there.
